HOW TO WASH YOUR DOG: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

🐾 You may want to start by brushing your dog before a bath. Matted hair holds water out & prevents the water from reaching everywhere. Brushing will loosen the hair & makes it possible for the water & shampoo to reach all areas.

🐾 Wet your dog’s coat with lukewarm water. It is best to keep the water temperature to that which you would run for a human baby. This will prevent any unnecessary burns.
🐾 When using Cleaning Warehouse Dog Shampoo apply 50-100ml Shampoo, onto the dog’s coat depending on your dog’s size, and massage well. Be sure to use Dog Shampoo that is specially formulated for a dog, unlike human shampoo which may be more inclined to dry out their skin.

🐾 This is time to connect with your “best friend” and spend some quality time together. Some dogs don’t take well to bathing but can with time be conditioned to associate “bath time” with a time of special attention.
🐾 Be careful to keep Shampoo away from their eyes and mouth. Add more water if your dog’s coat is not wet enough while massaging to make this a comfortable and soothing process.
🐾 Repeat until rich foam results then rinse your dog with plenty of clean water to ensure that all traces of the shampoo are removed. Soap left on the dog’s fur could irritate your dog’s skin. Make sure that you rinse well and that you rinse again.

🐾 It is best to towel or air-dry. The use of a human blow dryer can be too hot for a dog’s skin.

Finally, give your dog a treat followed by lots of petting and praise. Play a game and hopefully, the dog once scared of baths will come to associate bath time with a time of special attention.
