5 Garden Tips: How to Save Water This Summer
28 October 2024Our vehicles have had a busy year too. From the daily commute to work, dropping the kids at school and sports, to trips to the gym, and taking the pets to the park – your car has had its fair share of traffic (mind the pun). It is no wonder that there’s a funny smell lingering around right about now.
Did you know that the inside of your car can be dirtier than the button of a mall’s elevator?
Research has shown that high-touch areas like the steering wheel, door handles, and gear shift can harbour a whole lot of bacteria.
But don’t worry – it’s nothing a good deep clean cannot fix.
Follow this guide for a cleaner, fresher car:
What you’ll need:
- Dilute 1:3 All Purpose Cleaner in an empty Spray Bottle
- Microfibre Cloths
- Vacuum
- JIM™ Window & More
- Sanitiser Fogger
- Leather Guard & Vinyl Conditioner
- Car Freshener
- Old toothbrush
Step 1: Tackle interior clutter & vacuum thoroughly
- Start by removing any personal belongings, trash, and loose items from the car. Empty the glove compartments, door pockets, and the boot.
- Use a vacuum with a crevice tool to get between seats, under mats, and in tight spaces.
- Shake off dirt from the mats. Vacuum and wash them with the diluted All Purpose Cleaner.
Step 2: Get down to detail
- Clean air vents, radio crevices and other areas on the dashboard with an old toothbrush.
- Spray a small amount of the diluted All Purpose Cleaner onto a microfibre cloth and wipe down the dashboard, steering wheel, gear shift, seatbelts and buckles, centre console, control buttons and touchscreen, and door panels.
- Condition all leather or vinyl areas with Leather Guard & Vinyl Conditioner.
Step 3: Sanitise
- Use an Alcohol Sanitiser Fogger to sanitise and deodorise every nook and cranny in one seamless go. Close the windows and doors and place the fogger in the centre.
- Activate it an allow it to complete its cycle, leaving the car closed for an additional 30 minutes.
- Then, open the windows and doors to air out the vehicle. Allow fresh air to circulate for several minutes before re-entering.
Step 4: Clean the windows
Use a window cleaner and microfibre cloth to clean the inside of the windows.
Step 5: Freshen
After cleaning, you can add auto air freshener to leave your car smelling fresh.
